Scar camouflage is a cosmetic technique used to reduce the visibility of scars on the skin.

It involves applying pigments to the scar tissue to match the surrounding skin color and

tone, creating the appearance of smoother, more even skin. Scar camouflage can be

used to reduce the appearance of scars from surgical procedures, injuries, burns, or other

types of skin trauma. This technique is often performed by a trained professional, such

as a paramedical tattoo artist and medical aesthetician.

Over the years, Inkless Rejuvenation has proven to be a highly effective medical procedure that can work wonders
on your skin. This revolutionary treatment has made waves in the United States and Australia, and is now making
its way to the UK.
We are thrilled to be one of the first studios in the UK to offer this amazing procedure.
Inkless Rejuvenation is a form of medical tattoo that utilises a special blend of clear ingredients to repair the skin.
Similar to a tattoo, we use tattoo machines and needles to work gently on the affected area. However, instead of ink,
we use a special blend of serums that are packed with peptides, collagen, and vitamins to heal the skin.
Using fine needles, we only target the damaged skin and avoid the surrounding healthy skin. Depending on the
severity of the scarring or stretching, we work at a specific depth to cause controlled injury to the epidermis (top
layer of skin). By doing so, we encourage the rebuilding of collagen, elastin, and melanin to create a smoother and
firmer appearance.
The combination of your body’s natural healing process and our powerful serums results in a potent blend that can
help heal your scars and stretch marks. After the procedure, the treated area will look much like it did before the
scarring or stretching, giving you a renewed sense of confidence. Best of all, Inkless Rejuvenation is minimally
invasive and requires minimal downtime depending on the size of the treated area.

The number of treatments required to achieve the desired outcome varies for each individual as healing times can
differ. The objective of the treatment is to smooth out the texture of the scar or stretch mark while promoting the
production of elastin, melanin, and collagen. This process encourages the affected area’s pigmentation to match the
surrounding skin tone. The number of treatments required for satisfactory results depends on the individual’s

response to treatment, with some achieving their desired outcome after just one session. However, most clients
require approximately three to eight sessions to achieve optimal results. It’s crucial to allow a break of 60 to 90 days
between each session to ensure that the skin is entirely healed before inducing further controlled trauma.
In certain cases, we can provide a preview of what to expect from the photos and videos you provide before
consultation. If stretch marks and scars are entirely flat and smooth, typically only 1-2 treatments are required.
However, if the skin is more textured, additional treatment sessions may be necessary. Large, textured stretch
marks, medical scars, self injury scars and burns will take more sessions than smaller stretch marks and minor
scarring. A likely treatment plan can only be made after your first treatment and your Practitioner has had a chance
to asses your healing after the 90 day healing period.

One common question clients have is whether the treatment is painful. While everyone’s pain tolerance varies, most
clients report feeling a mere 3-4 out of 10 on the pain scale. Expect a sharp, scratching sensation during the
procedure, and some discomfort throughout.
Several factors contribute to the level of discomfort experienced, such as the depth of the scar/stretch mark, certain
body areas being more sensitive than others, and the amount of pressure applied. If the focus is less on breaking
down scar tissue and more on producing melanin, less pressure is applied, resulting in a relatively pain-free
experience.

For those who are particularly sensitive or having more than 3 areas treated, taking painkillers before the
appointment is advisable. It may also be prudent to consider breaking down the treatment into two appointments.
Overall, the procedure is largely non-invasive, making it highly manageable.

It’s common to experience swelling, redness, and tenderness in the treated areas immediately after the procedure.
This reaction is expected since we intentionally caused controlled trauma to initiate the skin’s injury and response
process. The redness and swelling should subside within 2-3 days.
To minimise discomfort, it’s recommended to wear loose-fitting clothing to the appointment and avoid rubbing the
treated area. We can apply a second skin film to protect the treated area during your journey home.
You may experience heat and some bruising or stinging sensations, depending on the size of the treated area. This
discomfort is typically manageable and requires little to no downtime. For longer treatments, it’s essential to have a
substantial meal and stay hydrated to improve pain tolerance and regulate adrenaline levels.

Prior to your procedure, it’s crucial that your skin undergoes proper preparation. Ensuring that the skin is clean,
smooth, and healthy facilitates an optimal outcome. We advise thoroughly exfoliating the areas to be treated since
dry and flaky skin can be challenging to work with. Regular application of body lotion can help prevent this issue.

It’s advisable not to wear any lotions, oils, or moisturisers on the day of treatment as this can impact product
absorption and skin retention.
It’s essential to avoid alcohol consumption 48 hours before treatment, and caffeinated beverages should be avoided
24 hours before treatment. This helps to prevent unnecessary bleeding, which can cause ink and product to be
expelled from the skin immediately.

Whilst Micro-needling uses a similar method, science and technique to encourage cell renewal – it is not nearly as
precise, targeted or effective. This is because we are extremely fine needles that allows us to work more aggressively
directly on the damaged or stretched skin. We are not causing damage to any of the healthy skin that surrounds the
scars and stretch marks. Using the Tattoo pen, we create micro-punctures into the skin, allowing for product
penetration and an extremely targeted response.

This treatment surpasses all other treatments available in terms of efficacy and affordability. Unlike Laser & Peel
treatments, it is both effective and economical. Several clients have switched to our treatment after being
dissatisfied with the expensive and painful laser treatments that didn’t yield the desired results.

To be treated, scars and stretch marks should be at least 1.5/2 years old. Depending on the extent of skin damage,
one may need to wait longer. Ideally, scars should have turned lighter in colour, appearing flat and shiny, indicating
that the body has completed the natural healing process before treatment begins. If the skin is still red, purple, or
dark brown, it means that healing is incomplete. However, in cases where the skin fails to turn lighter even after a
few years, lightening serum treatments can be used during treatment.
Before treatment, your practitioner will discuss your medical history with you. If you have a history of keloid
scarring, treatment will come with some risks. Although it’s still possible to undergo treatment, we will need to be
extra gentle with the needling process, which may require additional sessions.
Hyperpigmentation is another possible risk that needs to be considered before treatment. If you have a history of
hyperpigmentation or have noticed dark scarring from previous injuries, it indicates that you may be prone to
hyperpigmentation. In such cases, we will need to exercise caution while treating your skin.
If there is a higher level of risk, we recommend scheduling a Skin Test Appointment. This is where our practitioner
will work on a small test area that we can assess for 60/90 days before proceeding with a full treatment plan.

The healing process can be intimidating, but it’s crucial to trust the process. Our procedure involves a controlled
injury to your skin to achieve the desired results. It’s essential to expect some level of trauma as we encourage the
skin to re-heal.
Initially, the affected area(s) will appear raised, red, swollen, and inflamed. These symptoms typically subside within
two to three days. Following this phase, the skin may start to dry out and scab, but it’s crucial to avoid this. Please
follow your aftercare instructions and apply MicroBalm at least three times a day or whenever the area feels dry.
As the skin transitions through this phase, it may darken, appearing as dark brown or red/purple, contingent on
your natural skin tone. This may make your scars and stretch marks appear more prominent initially. However, this
is due to an influx of melanin that has rushed to the skin’s surface. These effects will gradually subside as the healing
process continues, leaving you with skin that adapts and adheres to its normal colour and texture.

As with any skin treatment, it is never possible to predict how someone’s skin will react to treatment. Every person is different. Usually a few MCA needling treatments are required to see an improvement. Some people may not respond enough, but it is possible to get amazing results from this treatment and is highly recommended to try before resorting to ink, and definitely needed to smooth out some scars before it is possible to tattoo.

We find darker skin types respond quicker in terms of pigment stimulation. It isn’t possible to predict how anyone’s skin will respond to treatment, and it depends on the texture of the stretch marks as to how many sessions are needed. If the stretch marks are deeper or raised compared to the surrounding skin, or are a little “wrinkly”, then a few sessions are usually needed to smooth them out, ready for inking if required. If the stretch marks are fairly flat but are perhaps shiny / silvery, then maybe 1-2 sessions might be needed.

Everyone is different so we have to play it by ear and see how the skin heals after each session of MCA dry needling.
